The Modern Group, Australia's biggest home improvement company is getting ready to give "solar power to the people". The Australian owned company, established in 1979, is adding Solar Energy Solutions to its existing Eco-conscious product range which includes rainwater tanks, Kool Kote paint and Enviroblind window roller shutters, and hopes consumers all around the country will get onboard to do their bit for the environment.

The Launch of Modern's Solar Energy product will enable consumers to not only produce their own electricity, but also sell power back to the grid where applicable! It is perfect timing for the company, which has branches in all States, as people are now becoming more aware and also more prepared to do something about our changing climate by reducing their carbon footprint or CO2 emissions.

Modern's Managing Director, Mr. Ron Bayley says, "Climate change and carbon emissions are at the forefront of public debate at present and Modern have taken these concerns on board and decided to propel Solar power into the mainstream consumer market. We will be offering a wide range of solar powered solutions suited for everything from a caravan right through to a modern mansion. We want Solar Energy to be accessible for all Australians and with help from the new Australian Federal Government led by Kevin Rudd, we will contribute to putting Australia on the international map of renewable energy nations."

Australia has one of the highest rates of carbon emissions, per capita, in the world so Modern has hired and trained an "Eco Team" of specialist consultant's, to not only educate consumers on Solar Power but also give tips on other things they can do to help reduce their impact on the environment.

Modern launched their Solar Energy range on the 19th of November and reports that they have been inundated with calls for the renewable energy source, which demonstrates that Australian's are prepared to dip into their back pockets to help protect our delicate environment.
