juwi Builds 26 PV Farms in 30 Months

Since its establishment in January 2013, juwi Shizen Energy has successfully completed the EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) for a total of 26 photovoltaic power stations around Japan. With confidence, juwi Shizen Energy now embarks on the wind power generation business, which is the next stage of the company and to promote more renewable energy around Japan.

juwi Shizen Energy Inc. is an international joint venture between Germany's juwi AG, a prominent global EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) company, and Shizen Energy, a Japanese renewable energy venture.

Shizen Energy is responsible for development while juwi Shizen Energy handles EPC and juwi Shizen Energy Operation Inc. performs O&M (operation and maintenance), enabling the provision of all the services needed for a renewable energy power plant that characterizes the group.

The reason that juwi Shizen Energy has been involved in the successful completion of 26 photovoltaic power stations with a total power output of approximately 31 megawatts in less than three years since its foundation lies in its engineering and operational capabilities coupled with strong teamwork that combines both its global and local strengths.

juwi has a total global EPC track record of around 3,200 megawatts from photovoltaic and wind power as well as 2,000 megawatts' worth of O and M. It has been a leader in the global market for 19 years, and uses the experience of establishing and operating power plants in all types of climatic, geographic and grid interconnection conditions around the world as well as its global purchasing network to construct high quality, efficient power plants in Japan.

Furthermore, the group's development team has an intimate understanding of the developmental requirements and procedures for the construction of power plants in Japan. Thus helping our partners, landowners, stakeholders and clients to develop the best solution for their renewable energy project.

Strong local presence across Japan that have built trust and cooperative relationships with the people in each region enable juwi Shizen Energy to successfully bring a wide variety of projects from green field development to construction and operation .

This includes realization of projects in diverse and complex environments around Japan such as former mining sites, golf courses and hog farms, very heavy snowfalls and other seasonal and climatic differences as well as ground conditions such as decomposed granite.

In the second half of 2015 alone, juwi Shizen Energy plans to complete an additional 14 EPC projects.

juwi Shizen Energy also develops wind projects with a pipeline maturing over the next two to three years starting in Kyushu area.
