ATK reports it will manufacture more Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missiles for the U.S. Navy under a third full-rate production contract.

The contract is valued at $96.2 million and includes Captive Air Training Missiles.

"AARGM continues to provide significant advanced capabilities to those who protect our nation each and every day," said Bill Kasting, vice president and general manager of ATK's Defense Electronic Systems division. "We look forward to continuing to provide this critical weapons system on schedule and on budget to the U.S. Navy and our allies."

AARGM is a stand-off, air-to-ground tactical missile system that upgrades the existing HARM weapon system with a new guidance technology. It is used by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the Italian Air Force. It received Navy approval for full rate production in 2012.

The Navy said the new full-rate production contract includes missiles for Italy under an international cooperative major acquisition program.

ATK, manufacturer of precision-guided weapons, missile products and rocket motors, provided no details on the number of missiles to be produced under the contract and their delivery schedule.
