Washington (AFP) June 24, 2010 The US House of Representatives on Thursday overwhelmingly passed new unilateral sanctions on Iran, sending the sweeping package to President Barack Obama to sign into law. Lawmakers voted 408-8 to approve the measure, which aimed to break Tehran's defiance of global calls to freeze its suspect nuclear program, hours after it cleared the US Senate by a 99-0 margin.
