Ultra Intelligence and Communications recently unveiled its Archer family of troposcatter communication systems, showcasing a significant advancement in beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) communications. The company's latest venture met and surpassed a significant milestone by maintaining a communication link over 185 kilometers, thereby satisfying the stringent range criteria set forth by the U.S. Army. This achievement underscores the system's capability to offer a dependable and secure communication layer.

Chris Bishop, the company's Chief Growth Officer, highlighted the significance of the Archer family's introduction to the international defense sector. He emphasized Ultra I&C's commitment to innovation and its steadfast dedication to fostering enduring partnerships with customers, grounded in a rich legacy of technical and functional expertise.

The deployment of the Archer systems marks Ultra I&C's entry into the competitive arena of troposcatter communications, broadening the technological options available to the U.S. military and its allies. The Archer system has demonstrated exceptional resilience in various operational contexts, effectively countering interference and evasion efforts to provide critical communication links over extended distances where traditional methods are not feasible. Its design facilitates rapid deployment and automatic antenna alignment, promoting uninterrupted connectivity aligned with the pace of mission objectives.

Faith Rhodes, Vice President of Programs for Ultra I&C's Communications division, outlined the strategic value of troposcatter technology as an alternative to satellite communications, particularly in scenarios where satellite access is compromised. According to Rhodes, the intrinsic resilience of troposcatter communications is increasingly vital in preparing for scenarios that may disrupt conventional satellite communication pathways.
