Tecta Solar recently completed the installation of a 160.8 kWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system for Blackcomb Solar LLC in Worcester, Mass.

The system is projected to generate 199 MWh of energy in its first year of operation, which is equivalent to powering 27 average Massachusetts homes for a year.

The solar professionals at Tecta Solar provided a turnkey solution for Blackcomb and managed the project from start to finish. Services included design, engineering, procurement, construction, SREC registration and commissioning of the roof-mounted project.

Prior to the installation of the solar system, Tecta's local roofing operating unit replaced the roof so that its life would match that of the solar structure.

This system is the first in a portfolio of solar projects that Tecta is installing for the owners of Blackcomb. "Tecta looks forward to our continuing relationship with Blackcomb" says Brett Chapman, Tecta Solar's General Manager of New England.

Tecta Solar installed the first commercial solar photovoltaic system to be qualified for the Massachusetts RPS Solar Carve-Out, a 142.6 kWp system that has been in operation for more than a year.
