Tecta Solar is pleased to announce the commencement of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects located at Bedrosians Tile's distribution and showroom facilities in Anaheim, Calif. The PV arrays are 730 kW and 109 kW respectively and are expected to be fully operational before 2015.

The systems are projected to have a combined output of 1,312,413 kWh in the first year of operation and will meet approximately 90 percent of each site's annual usage.

These two sites represent the start of Bedrosians' plan to implement on-site green energy and energy efficiency programs at most of its facilities nationwide.

Next year, Bedrosians and Tecta Solar are scheduled to install another 2 megawatts (MW) of PV capacity on seven more Bedrosians Tile properties located in California, Utah and Nevada. Bedrosians is on target to deploy upward of 3 megawatts of green energy upon completion of the new solar projects.

In addition to implementing on-site solar energy, many Bedrosians properties utilize LED lighting, electric forklifts and other energy efficiency measures. The combined systems will generate enough green energy to power the equivalent of 190 typical California homes each year.

Bedrosians' total green-energy efforts are expected to offset 905 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually, which is equivalent to taking nearly 191 passenger vehicles off the road each year.

"Our investment in on-site green energy and energy efficiency is improving the quality of life in the communities we operate in by reducing CO2 levels and reducing strain on commercial power grids, while significantly lowering our operating costs," said Jillian Bedrosian with Bedrosians Tile.

Bedrosians Tile contracted with Tecta America for all roofing related scope of work as well as design and installation of each of the solar systems.

"Bedrosians Tile's investment in solar energy shows its continued commitment to renewable energy that is guided by the principles in its Long Term Energy Plan: cost-effectiveness, reliability, clean energy, energy efficiency and demand management.

"Bedrosians Tile has been a long-term roofing customer of Tecta America, and we are truly excited to begin construction on the first of several solar projects together," said Robert Rabe, Director of Business Development for Tecta Solar.
