SunPower has announced that Sunlight Solar Energy has won the SunPower 'Intelegant Award for Excellence' in residential solar-electric power system installation. Sunlight Solar received the award for its installation of a 5-kilowatt SunPower solar system on the Westport, Conn., home of Silvia and Geoff Durno.

The SunPower Intelegant Award recognizes residential SunPower solar-electric power system installations that exemplify SunPower's commitment to excellence in aesthetics, quality and performance. Award-winning installations are selected for the quality of the design and installation as well as homeowner satisfaction.

"Solar power helps homeowners achieve significant reductions in utility costs, especially in Connecticut, where we have some of the highest electric rates in the nation," said Sunlight Solar President and Founder Paul Israel.

"Sunlight Solar is committed to providing the highest quality workmanship and materials, and to helping our customers determine the right solar solution for their home. We are very proud to receive this award from SunPower."

"Sunlight Solar did a very nice job installing our solar-electric system. We've already seen a reduction in our electric bills of approximately 30 percent, and SunPower's all-black solar panels are quite attractive, too," said Silvia Durno. "Our advice to other homeowners? Don't wait -- install solar now!"

There are more than 400 residential and small commercial solar installers in the SunPower global dealer network. Dealers are provided training in the installation of SunPower products, and work closely with the company to provide customers with superior levels of service.
