The United States and the United Arab Emirates Space Agency (UAESA) have signed a deal to share information about their orbiting space satellites, the US Strategic Command (STRATCOM) announced in a press release.

The United Kingdom, South Korea, France, Canada, Italy, Japan, Israel, Spain, Germany, Australia, the European Space Agency and the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites already have such data-sharing agreements with STRATCOM, the release noted.

"[The US Strategic Command] entered into an agreement with the UAESA to share space situational awareness SSA services and information today at the 32nd Space Symposium" held in Colorado Springs, the release stated on Monday.

The agreement to share data on space operations and orbiting satellites as well as increase the safety of spaceflight operations was signed by STRATCOM Director of Plans and Policy Maj. General Clinton Crosier and UAESA Chairman Khalifa Al Romaithi, the press release said.

"Recognizing an evolving and diverse space environment... it is imperative we work with and leverage our key allies and partners like the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to increase situational awareness in space" STRATCOM Commander Admiral Cecil Haney said in the press release.
