Raytheon Names Dr. Thomas Kennedy VP Tactical Airborne Systems

Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems business has named Dr. Thomas A. Kennedy vice president of its Tactical Airborne Systems organization. Kennedy will report to Jon Jones, Raytheon Company vice president and president of SAS.

Kennedy assumes overall responsibility for the business operations and strategic direction of Tactical Airborne Systems, which administers radar, electronic warfare and airborne processor programs for U.S. and foreign military services. Before this assignment, Kennedy served as vice president for the SAS Mission Systems Integration organization, which developed the Airborne Standoff Radar surveillance system for the United Kingdom.

Kennedy has 24 years of experience with Raytheon and Hughes Aircraft Company. He has held numerous positions with increasing responsibilities in program management and business leadership and holds several patents in radar and electronic warfare systems. Before joining Hughes Aircraft, which was acquired by Raytheon in 1998, Kennedy was a captain in the U.S. Air Force where he managed vehicle avionics development and production programs for satellite launch vehicles.

Kennedy holds a doctoral degree in engineering from the University of California Los Angeles, and master's and bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and Rutgers University, respectively. He is also a graduate of the UCLA Executive Management Program and the Raytheon Business Leadership Program.

Northrop Grumman Appoints James Myers VP And GM Of Navigation Systems Division

Northrop Grumman Corporation has appointed James M. Myers sector vice president and general manager of its Navigation Systems Division. "Jim brings more than 20 years of business development, strategic planning, supply chain and program management experience in the aerospace and defense industry to his new position, which will serve the entire organization well," said James F. Pitts, corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector.
