OMRON RFID Announces Support For Sybase RFID Anywhere

OMRON RFID has availability of a Sybase RFID Anywhere hardware connector1 for its V750 RFID UHF Gen2 reader. RFID Anywhere is a software infrastructure that provides a robust, customizable environment for developing and managing radio frequency identification (RFID) and sensor network solutions of all sizes.

The Omron V750 RFID reader runs on a real-time operating system (RTOS) that delivers fast, consistent, reliable performance to meet the high speed requirements of today's supply chain, packaging and manufacturing operations. The V750, Omron's flagship reader, will incorporate the Company's recently announced area control technology, which provides not only RFID tag travel direction and distance measurement from a single antenna, but also supports user-definable read zones.

"RFID Anywhere's new hardware connector allows users to take full advantage of the Omron V750 RFID reader's capabilities," said Masa Kameyama, US Division Manager of Omron RFID.

"The V750 reader has built up a solid reputation for quality, robustness and high read performance. Using RFID Anywhere, customers can quickly and simply deploy the V750 in larger intelligent sensor networks to achieve new levels of business process visibility."

In addition to RFID Anywhere, Omron's V750 Gen 2 reader supports RFID BizTalk, BEA, epcSolutions, InSync and Reva Systems' platforms.

RFID Anywhere simplifies the development, deployment, configuration and management tasks for highly distributed, multi-site, intelligent sensor networks, and abstracts the interaction with the physical network of devices. With support for over forty devices, this powerful infrastructure enables the creation of intelligent sensor networks out-of-the-box.

By using RFID Anywhere, sensors are able to work together as an intelligent network by combining, organizing and coordinating these technologies through a common management structure, advanced feature set and event-driven development framework.
