Northrop Grumman gets $149 million infrared countermeasures contract

Oshkosh gets $378 million tactical vehicle contract modification
Washington (UPI) Sep 26, 2016 - Oshkosh Defense has been awarded a $378 million modification to a foreign military sales contract covering tactical vehicle sales to Cameroon, Iraq and Somalia.

The deal calls for procurement of 1,543 medium tactical vehicles.

It also covers three 78-gallon armor B-Kit corrosion prevention compound for vehicles to ship outside of the continental United States.

Work will be performed in Wisconsin. The estimated completion date is July 2018.

Army Contracting Command is the contracting activity.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. has received a $149 million U.S. Navy contract for work on the service's Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures program.

The cost-plus-fixed fee deal covers the procurement of hardware, production test stations and technical support to integrate the system onto Navy, Army, Marine Corps and Special Operations aircraft.

The contract will provide similar system services to the Australian government.

Hardware for the procurement includes weapon replaceable assemblies and support, 492 advanced threat warning sensors, 14 signal processor elements, 27 control indicator units, signal processors, 12 infrared missile warning system sensors, 77 laser transmitter assemblies, 51 shipping containers, 20 multi-role electro-optical end-to-end test sets, 10 smart connector assemblies and one advanced threat warning acceptance test station to meet necessary fielding requirements.

Work will be performed in Illinois, California, Colorado, Maryland and at various locations inside and outside the United States. The expected completion date is September 2018.

The Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity.
