Kongsberg Integrated Tactical Systems is supplying smart displays for U.S. Army Stryker vehicles under a contract awarded by General Dynamics Land Systems.

The contract for Driver's Situational Awareness Displays and the Commander's Situational Awareness Displays include provisions for design, development, fabrication, test and performance of the displays for the Army's Stryker Engineering Change Proposal Program.

Kongsberg said production of the displays will be conducted at its facility in Johnstown, Pa.

"This highly competitive bid for the CSAD and DSAD was a perfect fit for KITS, whose CORTEX displays meet or exceed the most demanding maritime and combat vehicle requirements," said Mr. Åsmund Groven, president of KITS. "Extremely rugged and waterproof, the high resolution CORTEX displays also feature a high contrast ratio, which not only reduces viewer fatigue but makes them the most sunlight readable displays on the market today."

General Dynamics Land Systems builds the eight-wheeled, armored Stryker combat vehicles for the Army.

Details on the value of the contract from GDLS and the number of units to be produced were not disclosed.
