Kingspan Insulated Panels has launched Kingspan Energy, a fully-funded solar energy solution provider making low-carbon energy generation effortless for UK businesses. Kingspan Energy will enable more companies to benefit from the lower energy costs and greater environmental credentials associated with photovoltaic (PV) solutions, without the risks involved in the capital outlay, installation or maintenance of a PV system.

Kingspan Energy offers a 100% funded solution, with no upfront cost or capital risk to the end client. In return for a 25 year lease on the roof space, Kingspan will design, project-manage, install and maintain a bespoke optimised solar PV solution.

The electricity generated by the system will be available to the host company at lower rates than would otherwise be supplied from the grid. As a result the client will have the advantage of fixing electricity cost indexed to RPI rather than having exposure to the volatile annual utility inflation rates.

This means Kingspan Energy offers cost savings from day one, and with the predicted rises in traditional grid-based electricity costs, the potential savings can only increase over time. This helps future-proof businesses against rising external energy costs, providing a degree of certainty that will appeal to building and business owners up and down the country.

To add further peace of mind, Kingspan offers a combined roof and PV system guarantee for 25 years, with free lifetime system performance monitoring and maintenance.

Furthermore, adopting the Kingspan Energy solution can also have a big impact on a building's energy efficiency and carbon credentials. Each system will improve a building's EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) and BREEAM rating, enhancing the value of property assets.

"We've launched Kingspan Energy to allow businesses and building owners the opportunity to maximise the use of their roof space to generate rooftop power for their own benefit, thus reducing their energy costs and enhancing the value of their property without the need for any upfront capital outlay'' explained Gilbert McCarthy, Managing Director of Kingspan Insulated Panels.

"More importantly, because of our expertise as building envelope market leaders, we can offer a comprehensive guarantee, making the proposition virtually risk-free for UK businesses with suitable roof space."

Designed for industrial and commercial buildings, the PV system can be installed on a wide range of roof types, including both metal and membrane roofs. It is suitable for new and existing buildings or refurbishments, and can be installed with no costly interruptions to daily business.
