In a strategic move to boost its global connectivity solutions, Intelsat today announced the expansion of its partnership with Eutelsat Group, focusing on the integration of Eutelsat's OneWeb low-earth orbit (LEO) constellation into Intelsat's offerings. This development signifies a major leap forward in multi-orbit satellite connectivity, propelling Intelsat to lead in the evolution of global communication networks.

The collaboration involves a $250 million investment in LEO services for the initial six years, with an option to extend the investment by another $250 million. This expansion aims to enhance Intelsat's service portfolio by incorporating LEO capabilities, catering to the evolving needs of its diverse customer base.

Dave Wajsgras, CEO of Intelsat, emphasized the partnership's history and its role in offering multi-orbit solutions, particularly to the commercial aviation sector. He highlighted the growing demand and the mutual benefits of enhancing this collaboration, stating, "Expanding our successful partnership with Eutelsat and its OneWeb LEO constellation aligns with our collective interest in delivering superior connectivity solutions to our customers."

Additionally, Intelsat will collaborate with Eutelsat on the development of the Next Generation OneWeb constellation. This partnership will allow Intelsat to contribute to the constellation's design, ensuring it meets future customer requirements effectively.

Eva Berneke, CEO of Eutelsat Group, remarked on the partnership as a testament to the OneWeb constellation's current and future capabilities. She stressed the importance for leading satellite operators to offer comprehensive multi-orbit solutions in today's market.

Wajsgras further expressed confidence in the synergy between Intelsat's expertise, including its GEO and terrestrial networks, and the advanced capabilities provided through the OneWeb LEO network by Eutelsat Group. This collaboration is set to enhance Intelsat's ability to deliver unparalleled solutions across networks, government, and mobility sectors, driving new growth.
