Indian navy units on Saturday recovered crew module of the country's first test flight for its Gaganyaan (skycraft) mission.

The test flight was successfully launched earlier in the day after putting it on hold for a couple of hours due to a technical anomaly.

The crew module was recovered by the Eastern Naval Command of the Indian navy.

The purpose of the mission was to demonstrate the crew escape system for the Gaganyaan mission.

The Gaganyaan mission is planned to be launched in 2025 when three crew members will be sent into space for three days.

Huntsville AL (SPX) Oct 20, 2023
NASA recently built and tested an additively-manufactured - or 3D printed - rocket engine nozzle made of aluminum, making it lighter than conventional nozzles and setting the course for deep space flights that can carry more payloads. Under the agency's Announcement of Collaborative Opportunity, engineers from NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, partnered with Elementum 3D, in Erie, Colorado, to create a weldable type of aluminum that is heat resistant enough for use on roc ... read more
