Impulse Space, a leader in in-space transportation solutions, has been chosen by the Space Development Agency (SDA) to join the initial Hybrid Acquisition for Proliferated Low Earth Orbit (HALO) vendor pool. Impulse now stands among 19 companies selected for this critical program, underscoring its capabilities in advanced space technologies and positioning it to compete for future prototype demonstration projects supporting national defense initiatives.

The HALO program is a core component of the SDA's evolving Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA), a multilayered satellite network designed to enhance the resilience, flexibility, and capability of U.S. defense systems in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Aimed at creating a more distributed and robust satellite infrastructure, HALO's approach emphasizes interoperability and scalability, key to sustaining communications, intelligence, and navigation services even under contested or challenging conditions in space.

Under the HALO framework, Impulse Space will have the opportunity to participate in end-to-end mission demonstrations. These missions could include satellite launches within 12 to 18 months of any awarded contracts, with a focus on reducing risk and demonstrating the feasibility of proliferating key technologies, such as tactical data links and optical communication channels, across an expanded network. Such capabilities are critical to enabling rapid data exchange and secure communications for military operations.
