Drexel's College of Engineering will kick off its National Engineers Week celebration with an unprecedented unveiling of seven adult-size humanoid robots as part of nationwide research collaboration. Following the demonstration, attendees can take photos with the robots, view a robotics competition and meet robotics researchers.

National Engineers Week is being celebrated at Drexel from Feb. 20-24 with a number of activities intended to introduce the Drexel community to the various fields of engineering and the research that is underway at the University.

Drexel robotics engineers and engineering students, K-12 students from local schools and more than 75 Junior Girl Scouts from local troops will be at the event to watch the humanoid robots as they perform on stage.

Demonstrations will include a game of "Simon Says" with audience members, dancing, and greeting students and professors.

The kick off will also feature a separate robotics competition featuring student design projects with robots constructed from Legos racing to perform a task and robotics demonstrations from various research labs at Drexel, including musical robots that play the piano and dance.
