Goodrich To Showcase Advanced Space Systems At The National Space Symposium

Goodrich at next week's National Space Symposium will showcase mission-critical space technology and electronics that supports space launch vehicles and satellites. The National Space Symposium takes place at the Broadmoor, Colorado Springs from April 11-14, 2011.

Goodrich (booth 608) will have on display a model of the ORS-1 satellite. Scheduled to be delivered to Wallops Island Flight Facility, VA this month, the ORS-1 satellite is the first satellite designed and built to support Combatant Command operations.

It will provide battlespace awareness supporting U.S. Central Command.

In addition, Goodrich will be presenting the new Control Moment Gyroscope (CMG). The development of this small CMG will provide high levels of torque for small spacecraft for superior maneuverability.

Technical staff will be on hand throughout the symposium for demonstrations and to answer questions.

Space electronic and power systems will also be on display, including the Solar Array Regulator, which automatically controls and tracks the state of the power bus to enable efficient use of solar array power.

Additionally, Goodrich designs and manufactures other launch vehicle and spacecraft electronics including power distribution systems, data acquisition systems and thermal control systems.
