Globalstar Inc has signed a new launch services agreement with SpaceX to deploy the final batch of its second-generation replacement satellites. The launch, set to follow an initial deployment later this year, is part of Globalstar's ongoing satellite upgrade under its 2022 procurement contract with Macdonald, Dettwiler and Associates Corporation (MDA).

The agreement covers nine satellites currently under construction by MDA. These spacecraft will operate alongside Globalstar's existing second-generation low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, ensuring continuous global coverage. The Federal Communications Commission has authorized the new satellites to operate under Globalstar's HIBLEO-4 filing for an extended 15-year license period.

Dr. Paul Jacobs, CEO of Globalstar, noted, "The launch services agreement with SpaceX represents another important milestone as we continue to execute on our construction and launch plan. These satellites, constructed by our partners at MDA and Rocket Lab, will enhance our ability to provide the highest quality satellite services to our customers over the long-term."

Globalstar offers satellite and terrestrial communications services supporting consumers, enterprises, and governments worldwide. Its LEO constellation enables secure, reliable data transmission for asset protection, critical operations, and safety. The company's terrestrial spectrum holdings, including Band 53 and the 5G-compatible n53, are available to operators and integrators building private networks. Globalstar also markets the SPOT line of GPS messengers and advanced IoT devices, combining edge data processing with cloud-based analytics for robust asset tracking and telemetry solutions.
