The Geothermal Energy Association (GEA), the trade association for the support and expansion of geothermal energy, has launched the Geothermal Web, a new program that features companies and individuals who use and support geothermal energy.

The program emphasizes the growth of geothermal energy as a green, renewable, sustainable energy source and brings together a public network of geothermal energy users meeting energy needs through power production, heating, cooling, and agriculture.

Geothermal Web members educate consumers about the benefits of geothermal energy by showcasing geothermal opportunities and the adoption of greener practices. The announcement was made by GEA Executive Director Karl Gawell.

"The number of people using geothermal power in innovative and unique ways across the country is staggering. This unique new program will emphasize how diverse our industry is by showing that not only is geothermal power a major source of renewable electric production out west, but it is lowering bills for heating and cooling to homes in the east and is even allowing Alaskans to grow crops in the snow," Gawell said.

"As we bring together the Geothermal Web, these diverse companies will be able to network and interact, allowing their creativity and innovation in the geothermal space to flourish."

The Geothermal Web is an inclusive network open to every sector of the geothermal industry and to anyone supporting the expanded use of geothermal energy.
