Gabon is ordering drones, unmanned ground vehicles, mobile medical shelters and positioning systems from France's Nexter corporation, the company announced at the Eurosatory defense expo in Paris.

IHS Janes reports the company said a date has been agreed upon to sign contracts that will cover the unmanned systems as well as the FINDSAT blue force tracking system and Euro-Shelter mobile clinics,.

The NX110 drone quadcopter, designed for frontline forces, weighs 4.4 pounds with payload, Janes reports.

Gabon is also set to order the NERVA LG unmanned ground system.

It can be controlled from about half a mile away, detect improvised explosives devices and can be fitted with a variety of payloads, Janes reported.

The diminutive Nerva is throwable and designed to be an extension of the vehicle that carries it, DefenceWeb reported.

It is waterproof and can operate semi-autonomously by following waypoints that allow it to automatically come home.

Gabon previously ordered four 15A naval mounts and 20mm Narwhal remote controlled gun turrets from Nexter for its Raidco RPB20 patrol boats and OPV50 offshore patrol vessels, DefenceWeb reported.
