GTX has announced that, as part of its continuing commitment to the defense, security and law enforcement markets, the Company introduced a new Military Grade Series of gpVector 2 Way GPS products designed for use in high-reliability applications.

This new series of products will go under the name gpVector ReCon and includes a variety of models to meet the customer's specific needs.

The first product in the line will feature a robust array of functions, including emergency call capabilities, extended battery life tools, an LCD display for SMS communications and a ruggedized case to ensure durability in various applications.

The gpVector ReCon unit will offer fast satellite acquisition in the toughest of conditions--even in heavy tree cover--and up to 72 hours of battery life on a single battery charge.

Leveraging the flexibility designed into the gpVector 2 Way GPS/PLS platform APIs, internet accessible applications for specific uses can be implemented within hours of conception.

The ability to create unique user groups and profiles will enable command center control to identify remote personnel by service branch and purpose, as well as indicate speed and direction of travel. Geo-fencing will be used to create hot zones and alarm them either from the command center or the field use device as required.

Designed to be carried by personnel outfitted with standard issue side arms, such as military, law enforcement and private security, the gpVector ReCon fits comfortably into ammo pouches worn either on the equipment belt or on tactical body armor vests.
