In an unprecedented move, the European Space Agency (ESA) has announced that it will be hiring over 200 new colleagues to join its teams in 2023. This large-scale recruitment drive aims to support ESA's ongoing mission of promoting the peaceful exploration and use of space for the benefit of everyone.

ESA recently published over 30 job vacancies and hinted at more to come. This opens a multitude of career opportunities for professionals ready to take the next step in their space career.

The agency is eager to recruit individuals with a passion for space exploration, a curious mindset, and a team spirit. New recruits will either bring their technical expertise to contribute to the ESA's inspiring missions or provide crucial business and administrative support. With the backdrop of a diverse and multicultural workplace, new members are expected to contribute significantly to the continuous success of the agency's missions.

Engineering professionals are in high demand with over 20 job vacancies open at ESA in various fields including radio frequency systems, antennas, propulsion, navigation, electrical, microwave, structures and mechanisms, earth observation, environmental science, and optical. Additional vacancies have been opened in IT, law, and project control departments, broadening the opportunities for professionals from various backgrounds.

Applicants are encouraged to browse through the job opportunities, register, and create a candidate profile to send in their application. ESA also offers a job alert service that notifies candidates when a job matching their profile is published.

With its 22 Member States and more than 2600 staff members working across Europe in nine different locations, ESA stands unique as a space agency. The agency offers an inspiring work environment supporting a diverse and multicultural team. ESA's commitment to developing its staff throughout their career and offering an attractive employment package creates an inclusive and supportive working environment.

Eligibility for these vacancies extends to those who have graduated to at least Master's level in a relevant degree program and are citizens of ESA Member States, Associate Members, or Canada as a Cooperating State. The selection process will also focus on candidates who reflect ESA's six core behavioral competencies: result orientation, operational efficiency, fostering cooperation, relationship management, continuous improvement, and forward thinking.

The ESA is recognized for offering its employees a stimulating and inspiring work environment, with numerous on-site services and facilities, ensuring an enriching ESA experience outside of work. For those passionate about space and eager to contribute to its peaceful exploration, this could be the opportunity of a lifetime.
