Companies partner counter-IED technologies

Humanistic Robotics Inc. and Critical Solutions International have teamed to offer Husky road clearance vehicles with counter-land mine and counter-IED rollers.

CSI's Husky features advanced ground penetrating radar and sensors to detect buried mines and improvised explosive devices. It has been used extensively in U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Humanistic Robotic's roller system was developed with U.S. Army funding and has also been used by military engineering units in both theaters of operation to detonate explosive devices.

"The landmine and IED problem needs a multi-faceted toolbox to confront it, and our rollers provide an additional tool, adding value to CSI and their customers," said Samuel Reeves, co-Founder and chief executive officer of HRI. "Our rollers allow for protection in higher speed situations and with CSI's tremendous history of safe detection, it is the ideal match."

"As the number of violent conflicts grow, you will see increased need for landmine and IED rollers which will be essential to defeating IED threats," said Josh Koplin, co-founder and chief technical officer of HRI.

Dutch sell armored vehicles to Estonia

The Netherlands has sold Estonia nearly four dozen CV90 armored infantry fighting vehicles it is retiring because of military downsizing.
