Clear Skies Solar Announces Solar Farm Project In Badger

Clear Skies Solar has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Badger Creek Development for the design and construction of a 2.1 MW Solar Farm to be located in Badger, CA.

The project, which is expected to exceed $8 million, is now in the initial design and engineering stages and will be structured as a utility Power Purchase Agreement. Clear Skies will be working with Frontier Renewables LLC, a German-American solar park developer and EPC provider for the engineering, procurement and construction of the project.

"This partnership with Frontier Renewables will enable Clear Skies Solar to expand into larger markets and continue to grow our business both in the United States and abroad," said Clear Skies Solar Chairman and CEO Ezra Green.

The solar park will be built on an existing 30-acre Brownfield that once served as an airplane landing strip. This perfectly-situated property has a substation that is capable of absorbing the additional 2.1 MW of electrical capacity. The location of the project provides a great opportunity for a Solar Farm because of its high radiation levels and limited air pollution.

"This announcement comes on the heels of Clear Skies Solar's recent statement about the advancement of another planned solar farm, also in California," added Green.

"With both President Obama and California Governor Schwarzenegger promoting measures to expand the use of solar energy as a means of weaning off of fossil fuels, along with the declining prices of solar modules, we expect that investment in solar projects will become more attractive now than ever before."
