Beijing (XNA) Apr 19, 2011
The director of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) Zheng Guoguang presented representatives from 16 Asian countries with integrated satellite broadcasting and receiving stations and the CMA's meteorological information comprehensive analysis and processing system on behalf of the Chinese government.

The recipients of the equipment are Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Burma, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Tadzhikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

The meteorological information comprehensive analysis and processing system is a modern human-computer interaction meteorological information analysis, processing and weather forecast production system that was independently developed by the CMA.

It provides meteorologists an integrated working platform to forecast disastrous weather conditions such as typhoons, as well as the ability for medium and short-term and momentary weather forecast.

The CMA said the donations are helpful for improving meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities as well as the ability to address climate change of developing Asian countries. The system also includes the function of accessing the Beijing Global Information Systems Center, a candidate for the World Meteorological Organization, as well as a quick-display system of weather satellite maps.
