Carmanah And ENCOM Offer Wireless Solar-Powered Traffic Beacons

A beacon installation by the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario using Carmanah's R820C solar-powered LED beacon fitted with a MS Sedco motion detector. Carmanah's self-contained "solar engine" is powering the motion detector as well as the beacons.

Solar technology provider Carmanah Technologies has partnered with ENCOM Wireless Data Solutions to add a wireless interface capability to its line of stand-alone solar-powered traffic beacons.

According to Richard Chesson, Carmanah Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, this arrangement represents the next step in the evolution of Carmanah's solar powered LED (light emitting diode) lighting technology for traffic applications.
