Ascent Solar Hires Vice President of Business Development

Ascent Solar Technologies announced Joseph McCabe has joined the company as Vice President of Business Development. Mr. McCabe brings over 15 years of photovoltaic (PV) industry experience to Ascent Solar and has expertise in the areas of building integrated photovoltaics, photovoltaic/thermal collectors, and zero energy homes. Mr. McCabe owns a U.S. patent integrating LED lighting directly into PV surfaces.

Prior to joining Ascent Solar, from 2000 until 2004, Joseph McCabe managed solar energy research for the State of California, at the Public Interest Energy Research office of the California Energy Commission.

Most recently he has generated multiple contracts with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District and is a technical support contractor for the California Energy Commission.

Mr. McCabe holds a bachelors of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Dayton, a masters degree in Nuclear and Energy Engineering from the University of Arizona, and a Masters of Business Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

Mr. McCabe currently is a licensed Professional Engineer, and sits on the board of directors of the Northern California Solar Energy Association.

Prior to these accomplishments, Mr. McCabe served as Chairperson of the Winters California Planning Commission, the board of directors for the American Solar Energy Society, Vice Chairperson for the Potomac Region Solar Energy Association and the board of directors for Solar Cookers International. Mr. McCabe is also a member of the management board for Solar Today magazine.

Solar Night Industries Announces Expansion into Colorado

Solar Night Industries announced today the hiring of Paul Warren as their Director of Sales for their Southwest region. Paul will oversee Solar Night's major account sales and regional certified installer network as well as manage the expansion of the SNI Builder's Supply Division in states from New Mexico to California.
