Arrowhead Global Solutions has announced that it has been awarded two multimillion dollar contracts to provide over 200 MHz of commercial X-band satellite services to two U.S. Government agencies. The satellite services will utilize the XTAR-EUR and XTAR-LANT satellites that are reserved exclusively for government and military applications.

The wins mark two of the largest single awards of commercial X-band satellite services and come just two months after CapRock's government solutions division unveiled the industry's first commercial X-band managed service offering.

To support the missions of its government clients, Arrowhead has made significant investments in X-band teleport infrastructure and satellite capacity, signing a strategic agreement with XTAR, LLC that includes multiple transponders on its X-band fleet.

Arrowhead's new end-to-end commercial X-band satellite solutions are part of a strategic initiative to accelerate the company's evolution as a provider of value-added managed services specifically for the military, intelligence, and civilian government communities.

"CapRock has taken the lead in commercial X-Band and is proud to answer the call from our customers for secure affordable satellite solutions to support in-theater operations," said Arrowhead President Tom Eaton.

"These wins continue a series of industry firsts and recent large-scale global contract awards in both the commercial and government divisions of CapRock."

XTAR is the only U.S. provider of commercial X-band capacity through its two owned and operated payloads, XTAR-EUR and XTAR-LANT. "We are delighted to be partnering with Arrowhead in support of these critical government missions," said Denis Curtin, XTAR Chief Operating Officer.

"We view these awards as a logical extension and growth of the relationship we established with Arrowhead last November to support its new managed network services in X-band", he added.

By leveraging CapRock's unique systems integration capabilities and self-owned and operated network infrastructure, Arrowhead has developed global connectivity solutions designed to meet the emerging requirements of government missions.

Government clients benefit from a single source for all their field services, teleport services and terrestrial interconnects to public, private and government network gateways.
