London, UK (SPX) Apr 07, 2009 Vertical Wind Energy are using Agile IP, a London firm of patent attorneys to secure patents for their modular design vertical wind turbine. Vertical Wind Energy's Steven Peace, said: "We provide innovative solutions for wind generated power, using a design that overcomes the inherent problems with traditional horizontal axis wind turbines. With Agile IP we are securing patents for our design and so far have six fully functional turbines in the UK and Ireland . Our company operates in a sector enjoying rapid growth. Competition is fierce and we must be sure our design is properly protected from infringement." David Fry, on the importance of acting promptly: "The last thing a company like Vertical Wind Energy wants is to be defending themselves against a competitor trying to copy their design. It is more effective and cheaper to seek protection from the outset. Crucially the owner of any IP rights must be agreed at the start to avoid expensive disputes later on." Agile IP, with over fifty years experience shared between three partners, is well positioned to help make the patent applications essential to secure Vertical Wind Energy's unique design. David Fry said: "Our role involves advising clients on what forms of protection are available, preparing legal documentation, and acting for the client before the legal bodies including securing protection abroad. If an infringement occurs we represent clients before the Patents County Court and instruct barristers if representation before the higher courts is needed." Warning of the dangers faced by companies failing to protect their IP rights, David Fry added: "Ensuring your company assets are protected with the right intellectual property legislation is essential, particularly when entrepreneurs are launching a new product, technology or service. Acquiring registered intellectual property rights properly can make the difference between success and failure." Related Links Vertical Wind Energy Wind Energy News at Wind Daily
