3M will highlight its expanded presence in the solar industry at this year's Solar Power International (SPI) Show, October 20-23 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Visitors to the 3M booth will experience 3M's broad range of solutions including Solar Films and Tapes, Light Management Solutions, and Specialty Glass for Conductive Pastes, all designed to enhance performance, improve reliability and reduce the cost per watt.

Additionally, the booth will showcase complimentary energy storage, power and conversion solutions including 3M's Lithium Ion Battery Materials and Electrolyzer, Fuel Cell and Redox Flow Battery components.

3M will highlight its 3M Solar Acrylic Foam Tape.

As many manufacturers have now discovered, 3M Solar Acrylic Foam Tapes provide reliable and durable attachment solutions for solar module frames. As the industry migrates to larger modules and thinner glass, the distribution of the forces acting on the attachment system of a PV module becomes more critical.

3M Solar Acrylic Foam Tapes offer benefits including immediate handling strength and consistent bond quality due to ease of application, contributing to faster installations and lower labor costs.

The 3M booth will also showcase other innovative technologies for attendees to learn how 3M is helping the world progress toward a clean energy future. The company recently announced the formation of its Energy Components Program, which leverages over 15 years of fuel cell development and expertise.

The program expands upon 3M's existing Lithium Battery Materials and fuel cell offerings to redox flow batteries and Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzers.

3M Energy Components is working directly with market leaders to enable improved power, decreased size, increased safety, longer life and differentiated value to customers.

"The Energy Components Program is positioning 3M as one of the leading suppliers of energy components, materials, and technology in PEM fuel cells and adjacent energy component industries," said Larry Wendling, Vice President of Corporate Research.
