botObjects who recently announced the ProDesk3D, the world's first Full Color 3D Desktop Printer (the ProDesk3D)- will now offer US high schools an opportunity to create their own 3D desktop printing room, just like the traditional Computer lab, and in doing so, hope to change the intersection of creativity and education forever.
While much has been said about 3D desktop printing, botObjects believes it will reach far beyond the hype and conversation today, changing the fabric of innovation, and while industry and consumers will benefit considerably - botObjects and its CEO and Co-founder, Martin Warner, believe it is in education where life changing events will happen - shaping the way for the young generation to embrace creativity and innovation in ways unimaginable right now.
According to Martin Warner, CEO and Co-founder, "Much like the start of the PC revolution, who could imagine the many uses of desktop computing, 3D desktop printing poses the same transformative opportunity in our lives. We wanted to start from the right place - and give children the opportunity get involved early."
botObjects has put together a package, initially for US-based high schools, set to take advantage of the flexible element of the education curriculum, enabling children of all ages (in high school), to learn 3D modeling principles, discover and create 3D designs, and create them on a 3D desktop printer.
The firm will also provide a suggested 'Project Study Pack' that give examples of suggested projects, enabling incremental learning - with the goal of children being able to bring to life their own ideas on a 3D desktop printer - unearthing thought provoking conversation about the possibilities of what they could create, and preparing them for design and engineering, and many other relevant creative courses in college.
"Our goal is for schools to go beyond 'one rare' 3D desktop printer, and create a 3D desktop printing workshop/lab much like what the Computer lab did and still does for school - enabling creative and innovation to flourish at a rapid rate" , said Mike Duma, CTO and Co-founder.
To accelerate this initiative, botObjects and it's CEO and Co-founder have teamed up to enable high schools to start off with 3D desktop printing - by receiving a Free ProDesk3D desktop printer along with the Project Study Pack and Design Modeling Software. Thus enabling schools to quickly take advantage of 3D desktop printing as a creative and practical study.
The firm calls this opportunity 3DDPE (3D Desktop Printing Education), and hopes one day that this creative flexible study can be more cohesively integrated into science and technology studies. How this will work? botObjects and it's CEO and Co-founder will enable high schools across the US to register for a limited selection of FREE ProDesk3D gifted printers (including Study Pack and Design Software), and allowing the applying school to each receive one ProDesk3D.
The firm and CEO will then further announce dramatic discounts for high schools that require more than one 3D desktop printer, with the goal of enabling high schools to quickly create a 3D desktop printing workshop room at minimal investment.
