China's Kuaizhou-11 solid-fuelled carrier rocket is scheduled to launch for the first time, in the first half of 2018, according to the rocket's developer and producer China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp (CASIC).

Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded Raytheon a contract to procure the Navy's Standard Missile-2, or SM-2, the primary surface-to-air defense weapon used by naval cruisers and destroyers.
The deal, announced Friday by the Department of Defense, is worth more than $27.2 million under a cost-plus-fixed-fee agreement to provide Standard Missile-2 between fiscal year 2018 and 2022.
