Russia replaces space agency chief in reform bid
Moscow (AFP) Oct 10, 2013
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday replaced the head of the state space agency as Russia scrambles to turn around the once-pioneering industry after a series of high-profile setbacks. Oleg Ostapenko, previously deputy defence minister, was appointed the new Roscosmos chief, replacing Vladimir Popovkin who lasted only 2.5 years at the post.
