A Testing Time For Shenzhou 9

In June, China's Shenzhou 9 spacecraft will lift off on an uncrewed test mission. This spacecraft was originally expected by many observers to carry astronauts to Tiangong 1, China's space laboratory. In February, China abruptly announced that there would be no astronauts on Shenzhou 9, and the mission would be flown as a test mission of the spacecraft and its ability to successfully join up with the Tiangong 1 module.
