Space Satellite Group EADS Astrium Sees Increased Productivity With TIBCO Software Inc.

Palo Alto - Dec 03, 2003
TIBCO Software Inc. announced Monday that EADS Astrium has noted increased speed and efficiency in bringing their products to market since they deployed the TIBCO data and communications backbone across four European countries.

EADS Astrium engineers and product development specialists based in France, Germany, the UK and Spain had difficulty sharing critical information. Because collaboration was conducted mainly via e-mail, the exchange of data and information was slow, inconsistent, and caused delays in development cycles. To help streamline communication between distributed teams of engineers, Astrium deployed TIBCO's secure integration solution.

"Once we'd identified what we needed to do and set targets, and after evaluating three other integration offerings, we decided on the TIBCO solution as it was the only one that really met our needs in terms of business process management. As a result, we've seen significant improvements in productivity and efficiency," said Manfred Hocher, Manager of Application Systems at EADS Astrium.

"TIBCO lets us integrate applications and processes step by step, without any break in information flow within the company."

Astrium uses TIBCO to integrate various management and design tools in the product data management area, and to connect them with the existing corporate portal. TIBCO's automatic "Publish-and-Subscribe" technology alerts product development staff when new information is available, helping speed the development process.

"Cross-border sharing of mission-critical product information is an integral component of the aerospace industry," said Erik Hansen, president of EMEA, TIBCO Software Inc. "TIBCO's integration and business process management infrastructure is bringing significant competitive advantage and added value to EADS Astrium, helping them to get their products to market faster."
