New York - Nov 13, 2003 In 3 weeks, the premier forum for the U.S. Commercial Remote Sensing Industry will begin on December 1 & 2 in Washington D.C. The forum promises in-depth coverage and state-of-the-industry updates from leaders representing satellite, aerial and value-added resellers. "This conference will be a prime opportunity to understand how the U.S. government agencies are implementing the new U.S. Commercial Remote Sensing Space Policy, based on the completion of their 120-day plans. This conference will also showcase the nexus of security and commercial interests within an improved policy environment, including the potential for investment, synergy with other geographic information systems, and renewed U.S. government commitment to the industry." -- Kevin O'Connell Director, Intelligence Policy Center, RAND Corporation It is expected that NIMA will be making another NextView award to Space Imaging in the near future. The availability of at least two satellite suppliers would create a support network of data. The provider, and conference exhibitor, Space Imaging is expecting a smaller, multimillion-dollar contract while NIMA makes their decision on a second NextView. On October 10, 2003, Space Imaging received a license to own and operate a commercial remote sensing system with a ground resolution of .25m.
