PM To Inaugurate IISST Permanent Campus

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh would inaugurate the permanent campus of Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IISST) at Valiyamala near here through tele-link from New Delhi tomorrow.

IIST was conceived as a premier national institute under the department of Space and was the only Space University offering from under graduate level upwards, B N Suresh, former Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) and IISST Director, has told reporters.

The Institute which started functioning at a temporary campus adjacent to VSSC in 2007, offered courses in B.tech programme in Avionics, Aerospace energy and physical sciences, he said.
