IP Net Expands Satellite Service Business In Russia with DirecWay Broadband

Hughes Network Systems announced Tuesday that Russian satellite services provider JSC IP Net, has acquired the latest generation DirecWay Network Operations Center (NOC) and advanced DW7700 routers, bringing an expanded range of high performance capabilities to its customers throughout the Federation.

"Our newly-acquired DirecWay broadband NOC and terminals enable IP Net to offer our customers the highest quality satellite services at the most reasonable prices, which we believe is a winning combination," said Murad Sofizade, president and CEO of IP Net.

"We have been offering satellite services since 2000 based on a variety of HNS product platforms and are confident that the DirecWay technology is the most advanced and suitable for the Russian market. In addition, HNS is able to provide us superior technical support and service through its Moscow facility."

"Once again DirecWay is chosen as the ideal broadband solution for this vast and rapidly growing Russian market," stated Dr. Arunas Slekys, HNS vice president and general manager for the Russia/NIS business.

"By implementing the world's most advanced broadband satellite router, the DW7700, IP Net is demonstrating its aggressive strategy to unlock the maximum value of broadband for customers in all sectors throughout the region."

IP Net offers a wide range of value-added services and applications, including broadband Internet access, IP-VPNs (virtual private networks), Voice over IP (VoIP), IP multicasting, streaming of media content, video and audio conferencing and Wi-Fi Access.

DirecWay technology dramatically increases throughput speeds and expands performance options for IP Net's customers, enabling IP Net to serve large enterprise, SME, SOHO, government and consumer markets alike.

Installation of the DirecWay NOC was completed in June.
