HS3 Unveils Sat-Based Security Surveillance System For Oil & Gas Industry

by Staff Writers
Denver CO (SPX) Jan 24, 2006
HS3 Technologies is pleased to introduce its proprietary, cost-effective satellite-based CCTV security surveillance and monitoring system for remote rural Oil & Gas installations. The HS3 system is ideal for remote pipelines and oil well installations that have long gone unprotected due to their cost prohibitive nature.

According to the US Department of the Interior, "Our country's 2.1 billion barrels of produced oil came from nearly 555,000 individual oil wells. The 19.6 trillion cubic feet of natural gas produced in the U.S. came from slightly more than 307,000 wells. That's a total of over 860,000 wells spread across our nation pumping out the oil and gas that the U.S. needs to power its economy." The current US demand for oil and gas to fuel our economy and tight production supplies, as experience by the recent Gulf Coast Hurricane Season, have exposed our vulnerability to any supply disruptions.

HS3's proprietary security surveillance and monitoring system consists of high-resolution cameras, proprietary software and flow-monitoring components. Real-time, high-resolution images and data are beamed via WildBlue Communications cost-effective Ka-band to any designated remote control station. Ka-Band offers higher internet speeds, cheaper internet costs, more affordable equipment and higher reliability. Additionally, the HS3 system offers access to images and data via a cell phone.

Mr. Mark Lana, CEO of HS3 Technologies stated, "The need for security in the oil and gas industry is extremely important. Equally as important is the ability for producers to monitor production at remote wells. We designed our system so that wells could be monitored in real time, this way producers could eliminate the weekly trips of personnel to remote wells to monitor production. Our product is a system the oil and gas industry has been demanding for its efficiencies and cost-effectiveness. It can save producers hundreds if not thousands of dollars per well."
