Eagle Broadband Implements Major Restructuring Plan

League City - Oct 02, 2003
Eagle Broadband, Inc., a leading supplier of broadband products, services and content, has announced the company has implemented a strategic, company-wide restructuring designed to enable the company to better meet customer needs, increase revenue growth and position the company to achieve cash flow positive operations within 90 days.

The company also announced the closing of the previously announced $10M investment and the appointment of Dave Weisman as the new CEO. Regulatory approval was obtained for both events earlier this week and they have now become effective.

The new organization will allow Eagle to fully capitalize on the opportunities in each of its target business segments. The company plans to only invest in the most profitable, fastest growing markets where Eagle has unique advantages and can deliver compelling benefits and exceptional value to our residential, commercial/enterprise, municipality, hospitality and government/military customers.

"Today marks day one for the new Eagle Broadband with a renewed focus on the customer, profitability and maximizing shareholder value," said Dave Weisman, Eagle's new CEO.

"After performing a thorough review of all of Eagle's businesses and receiving valuable input from both new and existing customers and partners regarding how Eagle can best meet their needs, I immediately recognized that a major reorganization would substantially lower our operating costs while simultaneously improving our ability to grow revenues, increase profitability and deliver better quality service to our customers. We're focused on making our structure and identity easy to work with and understand and I am confident that this new organization accomplishes that."

The reorganization streamlines Eagle's ability to offer a comprehensive set of communications technology and services as a package to all of its customers, whether they need communications platforms, design and implementation services, multimedia content, or a partner to build and operate their network.

Each Eagle salesperson and channel partner will be armed with the complete portfolio of Eagle products and services, will provide a single point of contact for each customer with the ability to tailor and deliver the right mix to each customer based on their unique requirements.

"Every employee at Eagle Broadband knows of my determination to drive this company to profitability as soon as possible," added Weisman. "A customer-driven organization will enable us to capitalize on the significant growth we are seeing for our technology and services.

"This restructure will enhance our operational efficiencies and give our sales teams the tools and support they need to successfully engage with customers and deliver the most compelling communications solutions available today."
