AeroTelesis Receives Confirmation Of ASIC Device

Los Angeles CA (SPX) Jul 07, 2005
aeroTelesis has announced that it has received important confirmation that it's core technology platform Ultra Spectral Modulation(USM), developed by Photron Technologies, will successfully transfer from its current FPGA architecture into an ASIC device.

Two weeks ago, aeroTelesis confirmed that Photron and its technology partner, AccelChip, had completed the successful hardware implementation of a unique digital filter into FPGAs.

The migration from FPGA devices to ASIC devices will allow for a substantially greater number of hardware platforms, providing many applications for new, high-speed communications with much greater efficiency.

More importantly, ASIC devices can be mass produced in large volumes and are more cost effective than FPGA devices.

Joseph Gutierrez, President of aeroTelesis said, "The transition from FPGAs to ASIC architecture is a huge milestone, signifying that the Photron engineering team is making great strides with the USM technology development. The ASIC design brings us closer to the deployment of USM and will provide significant market opportunities for aeroTelesis in addition to our strategic business initiatives."
