With the introduction of a new, dual-band feed system for the company's 9.4m antenna, ASC Signal Corporation has extended dual X- and Ka-band capabilities across its full line of earth station antenna systems.
Now, ASC has expanded the versatility of its feed systems by incorporating low-PIM (passive intermodulation) designs that prevent X-band transmit and receive frequencies from interfering with each other on the same antenna.
"Government and military SATCOM decision-makers want to exploit the advantages of fast-expanding Ka-band capacity while preserving access to X-band frequencies," said Keith Buckley, President and CEO of ASC Signal. "No matter what the mission requirement, ASC now offers a high-performance, dual-band, low-PIM antenna system to meet it."
For more than a decade, ASC has pioneered excellence in the design of both Ka-band and X-band transmission systems, with a focus on mission-critical low-PIM feeds and antennas, and value-added multiband antenna systems.
ASC's dual-band, low-PIM, X-/Ka-band feed systems operate on its antenna systems ranging from the company's 2.4m nomadic and 3.9m quad-band transportable antennas through its 9.4m high-precision antennas. The ASC Signal line of antennas also incorporates patented innovations including sub-reflector tracking (SRT) technology and advanced environmental control systems, along with its monopulse feed system and ASC's Next Generation Controller (NGC).
The SRT provides 6-axis tracking of the satellite beam while actively compensating for thermal distortion caused by changes in temperatures at the earth station location.
